93: When it rains it pours!!!!

Linda March 26th, 2009

Oh so happy day…in an earlier post I wrote that I was invited to have a doll in an auction for the Monroe City Art Council, it took place at an event called Arty Gras.  The doll I gave them to auction was my cat doll.  Well in todays mail was a letter and a…..taa daa CHECK for $149.80.  That is 70% of the auction price.  I am so very very happy–yes the money is good, I already have it spent but..to know that someone would like it enough to pay the $214.00 that was on it.   Yippee!  If you can all see me, I am doing my happy dance!

(ha ha–sorry, no pics of me doing that!!)

Surprise Money

Linda August 5th, 2008

Yesterday was warm-mid 80′s (finally-we’ve had rain for the last week and temps in the upper 60′s to low 70′s, ARGH!!!).  I tootled out to the mailbox hoping my issue of Mary Jane’s farm was there (it seems to be VERY late in coming, hmmmmmmm).  No magazine, but what I did find was better ;0)  It was a check for $100 from Art Doll Quarterly–payment for printing pictures of my cat doll. Whoopee!!!!  Scott has now informed me that I am now a “professional”…I have sold my dolls and art before but he seems to think that this adds extra stature to my resume LOL.  Does this mean I have to act like a professional?  What does that look like??  Should I buy a “Hillary Clinton” pant suit LOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Secrets of the Cat Doll featured in Art Doll Quarterly

Here she is, in the Aug/Sept/Oct issue of Art Doll Quarterly, 2008.  I was happy to see her but…(o.k. so maybe I am being nit-picky) the collar is supposed to be standing up, sigh.  I only “I” would know that.  Next time I am going to send a picture of how the doll is supposed to look.  Last issue they edited the heck out of my writing, this one they didn’t but the presentation is wrong–what will the next be (Dear Princess, Princess Deer)  LOLOL!!!  My daughter was sad that she didn’t see her doll in this issue…we sent in dolls that we both had done, they were spiders.
