I am coming to the end of my forced confinement…my cast is supposed to come off on the 9th of Sept–just 9 days away. In the mean time I am still sitting around and making “stuff”. My latest endeavours are : 2 pairs of socks…the light pink are mine and the darker ones an X-mas present. They went fast, if I remember right it was 2 or 3 days (as compared with Scott’s socks which took me a couple of years LOL).

I have also finished the beaded doll part of the Gypsy Challenge. I will make her a stand but I am having trouble either getting up to the studio or moving around in it so that will have to wait. I have till the last week of Sept. so I still have some time yet.

I also have some things in the works for C & T publishing but I will tell more about that as time goes on. And last but not least, I will have all the beaded pins (53 +) listed on my ETSY site and ready to go. Already sold one even before the magazine article has come out. The “Bling” blurb will be in the Oct/Nov issue of Quilters Home and Scott will have a quilt in that same issue too. Have also watched vast amounts of DVD’s—do you know that you can only check out 10 at a time on your library card? It helps to have 3 kids and use their cards too!

Would you believe that I have been making dolly corsets??? Yup, I have. My models are Souldoll Hazy and Dollstown Yeondu. I bought the pattern from a nice lady in Aussie land, Just Shining. The patterns were great and better yet, down loadable PDF’s…YEAH, no postage! I asked permission to make some to sell and these are them. I will be putting them up for sale on my Etsy site here in a few days. The two tan corsets are made with vintage materials and trims.

My 12 year old daughter sent me this email on mothers day:
I want to say thank you for all you do. for cooking and cleaning and making us bentos boxes
. I know you don’t get to here it enough but, “thank you” ^^ I just woke up
(tired) so I don’t really have enough time to right something long but, I’ll try my best to make a poem for you:
in the night when the thunder roars, i am scared
but, you are there.
in the day where my friends cause trouble,
you are there to tell me how to get threw this.
i want to say thank you, but that seems to small.
(dad’s here and want to check his email, so i don’t have long at all)
there’s not much else to say, your my one and only mom and I’m very happy to have you
THANK YOU!

(I love the part about Dad wanting the computer to check his email). I hope everyone else had a lovely Mothers Day, I know I sure did.

I made these crowns for my Sd sized girls (but they do fit my one Msd sized doll). They are vintage xmas and jewelry pieces with some Dresden scrap thrown in. I posted them on a BJD forum and they were all bought by Connie Lowe of Marbled Halls (http://www.marbledhalls.com/) She bought them to use with the costumes she makes and sells. There is some talk of us doing a collaboration in the future. I will be making more of these and selling them on this site and my Etsy store…I think every girl needs a crown, no?!

(the above are Elfdoll Hazy)

(This little girl is Dollstown Sd 13 Yeondu).

needle
I really like the look of needle felted dolls/toys. I bought a kit to make this monkey for my son, who ADORES monkeys. I have since found out that I do not like to needle felt. I broke 5 needles and stabbed myself more time that I can count. I really put some blood into this doll. Max did like it though, and it has a place of honor in his monkey collection.
My daughter made this dress for my Agnes Dreary doll as an Xmas present. You can’t see it too well, but there is a fuzzy skull on the side of it. Creative child!
Two cute spool dolls that my husband bought for me from Etsy.
This is my new BJD. He is a Bobobie, An is the name. I renamed him Vincent. Scott made the sweater out of a sock, the hat is out of a sock too, just messing around ;0) He is approx 16 inches tall, resin and originally came with brown eyes but I liked him better with blue eyes and black hair. (You can see more of him and Jaynie/Rumour on my BJD page.)

This is to let you all know that I will be selling my zine collection (Scott begged me to NOT sell my Teesha Moore ones). It includes: issues 1and beyond of the Gleaner, there are some early Artitude’s, Dogged Earred, Collage Cats, Artella and lots more. Some are one shot zines, there are 2 in pdf form, and some early ones by people who now have become well known. I will be posting these in lots to be sold on my ETSY site in the next week. I am selling them to buy a better camera (the one I am using is just not good enough for the photos I need to take) and I need room in my side of the our studio.
