Scott gave me pieces from a line of fabric called Mezzanine by Patty Young and asked me to make something out of it for my ABJD, Tifa. In an Asian doll magazine was skirt made out of ruffles all the way down. I used that as the inspiration for this skirt. It is funny but the way that some pieces were cut makes it look like I used more fabrics than I actually did. I posted this out fit on my BJD group and got a lot of compliments in the color combinations. Ha ha, it was already done for me! I crocheted the tops…they were very free-form. Bumpy yarn covers up a lot. The out fit is completely my own creation (I am very proud of this, usually I take bits and pieces from other pattern to make my doll outfits but this was more of a drape and sew kinda thing. ) The Ruffles were tedious to do but I think well worth it to get the look.

Mimi and I are planning on going to a BJG/EGL convention in August. I had earlier made her a backpack for her dolls and this one I made for my Big doll. The body is made out of heavy weight timtex covered with a brocade type material that Scott gave me for Christmas many years ago. The ends are tufted. I wanted the whole thing to look like a opulent pillow. The closure is velcro.
The shoulder straps are long enough for me to wear in hopes that it will leave my arms free for shopping and keep my backaches at bay.
Tifa fits in it perfectly…there is just alittle room to maybe add some clothes, shoes or small accessories that I might buy.

I cut a piece of fake fur to fit along the bottom to further protect her resin.

Just a picture of my ducks and chickens–they are not as clear as they could be because the camera kept focusing on the fence and not the animals–still have some bug to work out with the camera. As you see the ducks stand more upright that “normal” ducks. I must say–I have not really bonded to these chickens but totally adore the ducks. They were soooo cute as babies but so messy. Water, water everywhere. I had to change their box and bedding daily. You could even tell when they were little that they would walk up-right. So far I have only gotten one duck egg. But the other girls are starting to step up production–today I got 3 eggs. Yeah, girls, that’s more like it.

This is a picture of my new big girl doll (she is an Elfdoll Rainy Hazy and is a Sd). That is Ball-jointed-doll talk for a 24 inch resin doll from Korea. More pics on my bjd page if you are interested. I think she is just lovely and I am very happy to have her. The kids have named her Tifa after a character in the movie–Final Fantasy VII Advent Children.
